Cookie policy

What is a cookie, what do cookies mean for you, and what are the possibilities for using them? Here you can read about cookies in general, as well as which cookies we use at  prevent-systems.com.

What are cookies?
A cookie is a data file that websites save on your computer so they can recognise your computer the next time you visit those sites. Cookies are sent back and forth between your browser and a web server, containing information about, for example:

  • user settings
  • how the website is used
  • shopping cart contents

A cookie is a passive file, so it cannot spread computer viruses or other damaging programs. Most frequently, it helps in the analysis of how the site is used so that web editors can improve the users’ experience. In many cases, cookies are necessary for the delivery of a service.

Types of cookies:
Generally, cookies are automatically deleted from the browser when it closes (session cookies). Cookies can, however, also be installed with an expiration point so that the data remains in place for a shorter or longer period (persistent cookies). Persistent cookies are typically saved on the hard drive.

In addition, there is normally a distinction between first-party cookies and third-party cookies. First-party cookies are left by the site the user visits, while third-party cookies are left by a third party who has elements embedded in the site the user visits.

Cookies on prevent-systems.com
On prevent-systems.com, we primarily use cookies for web analysis with the intention of optimising users’ experience of the website.

Cookies from Google Analytics web analysis tool:
On prevent-systems.com, we use Google Analytics to analyse how users make use of the website. The information accumulated via cookies about your use (traffic data, including your IP address), is sent to and saved on Google’s server in the United States.

Google uses the information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports about activity on the website, and provide other services in conjunction with activity on the site and use of the internet. Google can also forward information to third parties if the law requires it, or if third parties handle information on Google’s behalf.

Google Analytics leaves two types of cookies:

  • A persistent cookie that shows whether the user is a returning user, from where the user originates, which search engine is being used, keywords, and so forth
  • Session cookies which are used to show when and for how long a user is on the site. Session cookies expire after each session, that is, when you close your window or browser

Google does not associate your IP address with other information that Google possesses.

How to refuse cookies:
You can disable the storage of cookies on your computer by choosing the appropriate settings in your browser. Be aware, however, that without cookies, you may not have full use of all the website’s functions. As long as a cookie is in place with you as a client, is it always possible for you to see, alter, or delete those cookies.

We hope that you will allow the cookies we leave since they help us to improve our website.

If you do not wish to receive cookies from advoadm.dk, you can, in most of the newer browsers, choose Advanced Cookie Settings under Internet Settings and add this domain to the list of websites from which you would like to block cookies.

In Advanced Cookie Settings, you can also clear either individual cookies or all the cookies your browser has saved.
If you set up your browser to refuse cookies, you should be aware that there can be features that will not work on other websites either.

Refusing cookies from Google Analytics:
If you do not wish for your visit to be registered by Google Analytics, you can use Google’s Opt-Out Browser Add-on. Be aware that your visits to other sites using Google Analytics will not be registered either, if you install that browser plug-in.
